Through the Roof is Glass Ceiling Arts Collective’s inaugural inclusive short film festival, showcasing the talents of aspiring young Disabled and non-disabled filmmakers from across Tāmaki Makaurau and Tauranga.

The 5 short films that will have their premiere at the festival are the culmination of 3 months of creative workshops, where rangatahi have worked with industry professionals to carefully craft their stories, their way.

Exploring themes from gender equality, the supernatural and a school for superheroes, these films are a veritable melting pot of genres that demonstrate that filmmaking really can be for everyone. With original film scoring composed by each group using accessible music making technology and a cast of exceptionally talented diverse performers, Through the Roof will be an afternoon of movie magic.

Celebrate the unique and diverse talent of the Glass Ceiling Arts Collective Accessible Youth Theatre programme participants as they strut down the red carpet and show how awesome inclusivity really is.

Through The Roof Film Festival was made with support from The Potter Masonic Trust, Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Foundation North, Yoobee Colleges, Auckland Council Creative Communities and Auckland Live.
