Visual arts

Nine powerful Māori voices come together for a very special evening, presenting nine very different stories chosen to inspire, empower and entertain.

A ground-breaking hybrid of 'Ted Talks', a theatre show and a ‘micro’ conference, and designed to be accessible to all Aotearoa, M9 presents nine unique Māori through Whakaaturanga, Whakaari, Whakawhiti Kōrero - Presentation Performance, Conversation.

The theme of this M9 is: He toi whakairo, he mana tangata - without Māori art, who are we?

When we collectivise and weave together the tapestries of our arts, it creates a deeply rich and diverse cultural landscape that reflects our unique experiences, stories and perspectives. So, it begs the question: without Māori art - who are we?

Featuring: Nikau Hindin, Nigel Borell, Mr G, Tame Iti,  Maisey Rika, Veranoa Hetet, Sian Montgomery-Nuetze, The Hori, and Hoturoa Barclay-Kerr

Hosted by Matai Smith
