A Vintage Cabaret Cinema celebrates the nostalgia of Auckland’s beautiful atmospheric theatre, screening classic cabaret and musical film titles including 2006 hit, Dreamgirls.

Based on the 1981 Broadway musical,  Dreamgirls is a story of greed, tough hate, and romance. Three young women dream of becoming pop stars—and get their wish when they're chosen to be backup singers for the legendary James 'Thunder' Early.  Starring Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson, and more.

Sit beneath the stars and wander back in time with films that share a place in history, and our hearts, and soak in the gilded splendour of the sumptuous Civic.

 

 

Before or after the show, journey through the depths of The Civic to find The Secret Piano Bar, Club-a-lub-a-ling-long and enjoy performances by some surprise guests, get your fortune told, you might even meet a few new weird and wonderful friends along the way.
