Classical music

"You could see the joy in the performers' faces and movements as much as you could hear it in the playing" - The New York Times, USA

Juilliard415 represent the best-of-the-best early music ensemble from the Julliard School, with a reputation for combining youthful energy with poise, precision and a luminous sound.

For this New Zealand tour, J415 join forces with maestro Masaaki Suzuki, hugely esteemed for his performances and recordings of Bach.

The programme concentrates on Bach and Handel, the giants of the baroque era. It will give audiences a tantalising taste of Bach’s work, and guarantees an evening of luminous, vital performances.

Audio Description
Chamber Music New Zealand are delighted to be offering an Audio Description service for their Masaaki Suzuki and Juilliard415 concert. An audio describer will translate the magic of live classical music for the visually impaired, in real time as the concert is happening.

Touch Tour
Before the concert, participants are invited to take part in a special Touch Tour. This will take place on stage, and includes an opportunity to feel where the instruments are placed in relation to one another, and hold/touch the period instruments that are on the concert programme.

Date night, anyone? Join the Babysitting Club!

Finding childcare isn’t always easy – or cheap! The Chamber Music Babysitting Club has been created to ensure that people who love music can still come to concerts, even when they have the added expense of a babysitter.

Join the Babysitting Club Facebook group and whenever you buy a ticket to a Chamber Music New Zealand Kaleidoscope Series concert and book a babysitter for the evening, you will receive a second ticket free.

There will be a prelude event before the concert. Check chambermusic.co.nz for more updates.
