Keys to the Festival
Throughout the festival and our brochure, you’ll see the following icons to help you navigate the shows and events at We The Young. Here’s what each icon means:

Get Involved |
Participate if you would like to. For example, you might be invited up onstage to learn a dance move or get to create something out of paper. |

Sit and Watch |
A seated event with little or no audience participation. |
|
Highly Visual |
There is minimal or no spoken language in this show. For example, a dance work. |
|
Sound Based Event |
A show where the story is mainly told through sound or music. |
|
Relaxed Event |
A flexible performance designed for comfort and ease, where you are free to come and go as needed. All shows may be relaxed, or there may be a dedicated relaxed session. |

NZSL Performance |
Interpreted in New Zealand Sign Language. |
|
Wheelchair Access |
All our theatres are wheelchair accessible and companion dog friendly. |
Accessibility
The Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre has limited accessible seating – please book early to secure a wheelchair seat.
Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall are accessible via lift from The Civic Carpark.

Baby changing facilities are available in all bathrooms adjacent to We The Young events in the Aotea Centre, The Civic, and the Auckland Town Hall.
Secure pram parking is available at indoor events.
We’re a breastfeeding friendly space.
Relaxed sessions are available for all shows – perfect if you’re bringing a baby to a show for older Tamariki.
Parking and Transport
Public transport makes getting here easy, and if you’re driving, nearby parking like The Civic Carpark is available.
Food and Beverage
Grab a bite or a drink at the Container in the Square Café, Aotea Square or The Terrace, Aotea Centre.
Whether you’re on the go or catching up with friends and whānau, these spots will be open throughout the festival.
Tickets
Tickets are required for all paid shows and service fees apply.
Family Tickets include 2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children
Concession tickets are available for 65’s and over and students with a valid ID.
For Up and Away, Oberserver tickets are available as an add-on to a 'Baby + Adult' ticket.
For FREE events, check individual show pages to see if a FREE ticket is needed for entry.
The following shows you will need FREE ticket for entry:
- The Imaginarium | Sat 20 Sep, 10am - 3pm
- Stand Up, Stand Out | Sat 20 Sep, 3pm onwards

Operated by Ticketmaster, the main Box Office is located through the main doors at the main entrance to the Aotea Centre.
Aotea Centre Box Office Hours:
Monday - Friday: 10am - 4pm
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
The Aotea Centre Box Office is open 90 minutes prior to the performance or event you are attending.
Ticketmaster's Customer Call Centre:
Monday - Sunday: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm.
